Consultation Organization Guidelines (USA)

IMPORTANT: Please ensure you are using the most up to date GUIDELINES AND FORMS, as copies issued prior to May 2004 are now out of date.

Judy Worsley thanks those of you who have organized and participated on Consultation days. The overall experience has been tremendously satisfying, knowing that our community and the public have received service of the highest standard. Thank you for your co-operation, high quality of work and support.

I ORGANISATION:

  1. Organizer arranges the schedule of patients, practitioners and observers, ensuring that these and the Consultation Guidelines for Participants are followed.
  2. In agreeing to be an organiser one agrees to distribute a copy of the Consultation Guidelines for Participants to all practitioners and observers attending a Consultation Day.

II DAILY SCHEDULE AND STRUCTURE:

  1. Patients:
    1. Maximum of 6 patients in the morning and a maximum of 4 patients in the afternoon (whether patients have been seen by practitioners or not), J.B. examining, confirming C.F.s and suggesting treatments. Please schedule patients consecutively using times below so there are no gaps.
    2. Practitioners and their partners may be seen privately, with a maximum of 1 private appointment per day
  2. Scheduling:
    1. 8.45; 9.15; 10.00; 10.30; 11.15; 11.45; 2.30; 3.00; 3.45; 4.15. J.B. will examine each patient. The Group should be ready to start at 8.30 a.m. and will privately discuss the diagnosis and treatment plan and the patient will be treated by his or her practitioner (or designated locum) with J.B. supervising. A minimum of 2 treatment rooms and a meeting room for the group to privately discuss the case will be needed. The expected finishing time for the Group will be approximately 5.30 p.m. to 6.00 p.m.
    2. Allocating Appointments:
Each practitioner should have a minimum of one hour between appointments.

    3. Participants:
      1. Prerequisite for a person either bringing a patient or observing is four days of training at clinical class level with J.R. and/or J.B. Worsley. Clinical class level is defined as the level of training that involves preparing students to treat patients in the clinic. This involves working in class, diagnosing and treating patients under JB Worsley’s supervision.
      2. When allocating observer and practitioner slots please give priority to practitioners. Clinical students may observe, space permitting, only if they are attending a Five-Element School AND have had a minimum of four days’ training at clinical class level with J.R. and/or JB, as defined in 2.c)i. Students who are not in their last and clinical year of training may not observe.
      3. A maximum of 10 observers in the morning in addition to the practitioner. Please inform patient J.B. and observers will be in the treatment room for the examination and treatment.
      4. It is necessary for the patient’s practitioner to accompany the patient during the consultation unless there are compelling circumstances why not. It is in the best interest of the patient for the practitioner to regularly be present during the consultation of the individual. If a substitute practitioner is arranged, the primary practitioner should be the one to arrange the consultation appointment, the substitute, and the file handover, please.
    4. Please use Scheduling Form.

III FEES:

The overall economic structure is up to the discretion of the organizer, as long as the following conditions are fulfilled:

  1. Please make one check for the total amount, covering all days, to "Worsley Inc". Please make payment on the day the work is completed. Any charges made by the practitioner to the patient that exceeds the amount for the Worsley consultation please distinguish as "office charges." For current fees charged please contact Jo Whitehouse.
  2. Cancellation at any time after confirmation of booking incurs a fee equal to one third of the total fee for the booking.
  3. The observer fee is at the discretion of the organizer.
  4. If a child (under 12) is seen for only a diagnosis then it may be arranged as half an appointment (sharing an appointment with another child or in certain cases as an added half appointment) the fee is half the usual fee charged. A Preface Sheet is required.
  5. Suggestion - As other hosts/hostesses have done, you may wish to consider: Patients may pay in advance to secure an appointment. A refund is discretionary (based on a replacement patient).
